Bitch

The title to this post is VERY misleading. I bet you thought you were going to read some juicy gossip or something! But no, no ... sorry to let you down.

I was perusing the wine section of my local grocery store yesterday and stumbled upon this bottle!



Can you believe they actually have a wine called Bitch?!!? I couldn't resist buying it. The grape is a Grenache, which I don't usually buy because I tend to think it is a little too sweet, but the hilarious, PINK label just jumped out at me so I had to get it.

It is a screw-top too!

I made one of Ben's favorite dinners last night, which meant he wanted to open a bottle of wine. I wouldn't even let him consider opening anything but the Bitch! He found it hilarious as well and obliged my request.

And it actually wasn't that terrible! We referenced the wine-ictionary before drinking and it noted that the grape was grown mainly in France and Spain but this one happened to be Australian. The wine-icitionary also said that it is really more of a wintery wine and should be eaten with rich dishes such as stews. I'm going to have to disagree with that -- it was fairly light and fruity with a hint of spice at the end. (If you are a wine conneseur, you are probably laughing at my tasting notes ... I have zero knowledge!) And for me, this is the perfect summer red wine.

And in other news, I fell asleep before Dancing with the Stars ended but I heard this morning on the radio that Shawn Johnson won!! How adorable is she? I'm so glad she won. Too bad she's too young to celebrate with a glass of bitch :)

Finally

Remember how I reported a few weeks ago that I was in the midst of a huge closet clean out? Well, after about 3 weeks I have finally finished the job! It was quite overwhelming. Our master closet is typically the place where we just kinda 'throw' things so it gets pretty messy. As much as I would like to blame Ben for the mess in our closet, its just as much me as it is him. Anyway, here are before and after photos. Can you believe the difference a good spring cleaning makes?? Oh! And as a bonus ... I'm throwing lots of stuff out so there should be a good What Not to Wear post in your near future :)


Oh, and the BEST thing about cleaning out my closet? I found 2 brand-new pairs of summer shoes that I don't even remember buying. Sweeeeet! Here a picture of one of the pairs:

New topic now. Man vs. Wild. Did anyone else hear that Will Ferrell is filming an episode with Bear Grylls? AWE. SOME. Ben and I both love this show despite all the allegations of him sleeping in hotels and staging certain scenes. No doubt he stages stuff. And frankly, I wouldn't spend the night in a forest full of bears either. The man still drinks his own urine and eats bear droppings. He's pretty tough! I'm not sure how Bear got hooked up with Will Ferrell. Will doesn't strike me as the type to do hard-core stuff like climbing waterfalls and eating puff adders but I think we'll definitely put it on the DVR list anyway!

Last new topic .... my desk chair at work has been sitting at the perfect height for a midget for the past several days. (Not sure why it was adjusted) And I've JUST NOW figured out how to raise it! Yaay! I feel like a brand new person now.

Randomness

Lots of random thoughts from yours truly today. I'm all over the place.

Ben and I went to Tennessee this weekend to visit his parents. It was a nice, relaxing weekend filled with shopping, golfing (for Ben), eating, and watching basketball. While Ben and his dad were playing golf on Saturday his mother and I went out shopping. I don't normally shop in J Crew too much, but we were at the mall on Saturday and had time to kill so I stopped in. I am LOVING their spring line! I guess the trend this spring is lots of feminine detail ... flowers, ruffles, etc. So stinkin' cute!
I'm not sure how this one would look on me, but I adore the Victorian collar and think I could (maybe) pull the look off.Tracey bought this when I was visiting her in DC ... I absolutley love it but won't copy her!

This would be a great piece for this time of year! And the flowers make it springy.

The second thing I have to report is that I did find a pair of black flat sandals. Not thongs, but they are cute nonetheless. I can't find a picture of them online, so you're just going to have to take my word for it. OH! And I found the best deal on a pair of Kenneth Cole boots --- $16!! I won't be able to wear them until next winter, but for $16 it was so worth it.

I've heard a lot recently about McDonald's new coffees and lattes. I guess they are trying to beef up their coffee offering to compete with Starbucks. I've heard good things about their iced coffees and stuff so I figured it was worth a try. The verdict? Pretty good, but my experience wasn't very good due to the fact that I went to a McDonald's that was a little out of my way. Also, they didn't seem to understand the concept of making a latte with skim milk and no flavor added.

You remember how I posted a few weeks ago about my GOOP challenge? Well, evidently putting it on my blog for 'accountability' doesn't really seem to work out. Because I quit after 3 days. I have worked it into my regular 3-4 days/week workout routine though and think I'm much more apt to stick to it now. We'll see

Lastly, I've been inspired to do a serious closet clean up. Our closet is so overfull and is seriously messy. I'll post before and after photos, but since the before is super embarrassing you'll have to wait until I'm finished! I'm sure I'll come up with some good what not to wear ensembles as well.

Sandals

I have been on the hunt for the perfect pair of flat black thong sandals for a few years now. I have this precise vision in my head of the ones that I want and of course I cannot find them anywhere. Since I'm getting old and must stop wearing heels every day of my existence, I am on a serious mission this spring!

I've found a few pairs on Zappos and DSW that I like. You tell me what you think

I like these, but what I have in mind is slightly more dressy. These may work but I'm not totally sold on them. I also wanted to avoid an ankle strap.

LOVE the simplicity of these puppies but of course I look at the price and they are $210. Yeah, probably not going to pay that for a sandal. Let's move along.

I like these too. Especially the chunky rocks (or whatever they are) in the middle. I think these could actually be perfect because they can be worn dressed up or worn with a walking short or capris. Of course these are also a little bit price prohibitave.

Don't mug on these, I know they're purple in this picture but I think they come in black. I'll admit that the flower on top isn't ideal but this is the style I'm looking for -- thong, not paper-thin sole, not sparkly, no ankle-strap, wide enough for my fat foot.

Those are basically my only options. Everything else is too gladiator-y (although I do love glads), too sparkly, too ugly, too flimsy, or too trashy. I just don't know what to do. After a 2 year search, it just doesn't seem like I'm going to ever find the perfect shoe.

The New 90210

I've been out of the blogosphere for about a week now. I have things to talk about, just haven't had time to really think through a post. Anyways. I'll try to be better.

Am I the only 20-something that watches 90210? I'm pretty certain that I'm not. Did anyone see last night's episode? WOW. That show has done a complete nosedive. Ben and I started watching it mainly because it was an escape and we've continued to watch simply because it is a trainwreck. Actually, trainwreck is an understatement when describing last night's episode.

If you don't appreciate spoilers and haven't watched last night, stop reading now.

Okay. So Silver was on my nerves the whole night. I liked her so much better when she was edgy and cool. She's turned downright annoying. Over the top. And you know Dixon was frustrated with her, but since she got that tattoo of his name he felt trapped. And WHAT IN THE WORLD was she thinking with that video? I mean, seriously. Girl is deranged. I have to admit that I didn't see that one coming. As if that wasn't bad enough, she had to go psycho light her videos on fire in Dixon's yard then break into Matthews' place? (BTW, does he live at Melrose Place? I think so) I guess she was just so pissed that Dixon broke up with her that she couldn't think logically. In my not-so-humble opinion the producers went a little over the top with Silver last night. They should have stopped with her Left Eye Lopesing Dixon's house.

Moving right along, let's talk about Annie now. She is annoying. That's all. And her expressions? SO OVER HER.


I actually like Namoi these days. The fact that she's doing the whole Dylan thing and living in a hotel due to a fallout with her parents is fun. Unrealistic? Sure. Formulaic? Absolutely. But still it makes for an entertaining storyline. Now enter bad boy, Liam, and we pretty much have a new Dylan in town. I'm just hoping the real Dylan McKay will show up.

Adrianna: She, like Naomi, has gotten much better over time. Obvi, she mellowed out since she's preggers but she's pretty much the most stable of all the main characters. She didn't have enough air time last night and neither did Navid. And while we're at it neither did Brenda, Kelly, or DONNA!!

I think I'm going to keep giving it a try. For at least a few more weeks. I'm crossing my fingers that Silver will downgrade from psycho to just weird, Annie will learn to act, and the show will focus more on Naomi, Adriana, and Kelly.

Friday Favorites: Lip Gloss

Oops! I never really did get around to the Friday Favorites segment last week. Thanks to the hundreds of three people who participated! I think I'm going to change up the Friday Faves ever so slightly because I know its hard to think of products for a specific category. Also, I realize that yall actually have lives and don't have time to email me every week with your latest and greatest finds. So, with that in mind just email me or leave a comment if you discover something that you want to share with the other ten people who read this blog and I'll post it. I don't think I will limit this to just beauty products either because there are so many other things that I love!

Neutrogena Lip Gloss -

my lips are sooo sensitive to makeup that they peel with almost any lip gloss. Wierd right? I guess I have an allergy, but I have tried YSL, Trish, Nars, Benefit, Covergirl, you name it... and nothing keeps my lips from peeling. I tried Neutrogena Lip gloss the other day and it is fabulous. No smell, no peeling, and it lasts for several hours. I have 3 different shades and could not be happier - my search is over!

Liplicious 2-in 1 Lip Stain & Gloss

I like the stain because it stays on better than a lipstick or lipgloss. Then the clear gloss adds a lot of shine and moisture and can be found at Bath & Body Works.

Smashbox O-Gloss

I love this stuff! It is a light gloss that enhances the natural pink color of your lips. A friend gave me a sample and I'm now hooked -- you can find it at Sephora for around $20. I especially like to use this when I don't want to wear lipstick yet I want to avoid having bare lips. (I really should give credit to Tracey for the discovery of this product as she is the one who gave me a sample of it. Thanks, Tracey!)

Flip

Ben and I went to Flip again the other night, this time with a friend from out of town. While I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience, I have to admit it wasn't quite as perfect as the first time. The three of us arrived at the restaurant around 8pm. It was a Thursday night so we expected a bit of a wait, and were prepared for the fact that they would probably not give us an estimated wait time (they didn't do this the first time I went, because it had just opened). We ended up having to wait about 15 minutes longer than they estimated, and I was totally famished, so I wasn't too thrilled about that.

When we finally did get seated, we were seated in the "chef's chairs" overlooking the kitchen. At the risk of sounding like a whiny brat, I was annoyed with this too. The idea of chef's chairs is actually a good concept -- you sit at a bar and have a view of the kitchen. However, the ergonomics of this particular bar/chairs just didn't work. I am only 5'4" and found it uncomfortable, so of course Ben (who is 6'3") really had a hard time. Part of my annoyance was probably the fact that it was now 9pm and I was beyond starving. Once we had another round of Stellas, things improved.

The food at Flip, really is good. Its a burger joint, actually a burger boutique, but all of the burgers have a gourmet twist. It recently opened back in November and is the concept of last year's Top Chef runner-up, so it tends to stay pretty crowded. They don't take reservations, so you will most likely have to wait to be seated but it is well worth it.

I think Ben hit the jackpot with his meal. I'll be honest and say that I had a terrible case of food envy. He had the Chorizo burger, which I don't see on their online menu so you'll have to settle for my description: ground chorizo served with a layer of hashbrowns, a fried egg, manchego cheese, and romesco ketchup. Ben is a pretty picky eater and his typical hamburger consists of simply meat and ketchup ... no bun. (He'll kill me for writing that, but its true). So for a plain-jane eater like Ben, you can see that was quite an adventurous choice!

I chose the Southern burger this time, which was pretty good but honestly not as good as the burger that I had last time (the Butcher Cut -- I highly recommend this one). The Southern Burger comes country fried with green tomato ketchup, pimento cheese, and topped with home made pickles. I also had a side of asparagus tempura -- I LOVE asparagus, so I just couldn't resist them! Last time I went, they did not ask us to specify what temperature

RTR went with the Southern Burger, Po Boyger (ground shrimp, old bay mayo, fried lemon, and tobasco) , and Cole Slaw. We both agreed that the Southern Burger could have used a little more pimento cheese and he thought that the Po Boyger and Cole Slaw were a little too acidic, but still pretty good. Apparently the milkshakes at Flip are delish, so RTR ordered the pistachio and truffle one. Sounds odd, but really it was pretty good. There are some others that I would like to try, but since I've quit eating sweets right now I chose to abstain.

I was a little disenchanted with this experience, but I think that was mainly because of the longer than expected wait and the not great seating and not because of the food. If you live in Atlanta, you really should give Flip a try! The food is good and reasonably priced, and it has great atmosphere.

Friday Favorites: Shampoo

Thanks to everyone who contributed to the Friday Favorites this week! I really like hearing all these great product suggestions, especially when several people recommend the same ones! I'm definitely on the lookout for some of these shampoos!

Pureology Shampoo and Conditioner - These shampoos come highly recommended from two people! Here is what they had to say:
this is the best shampoo and conditioner i have ever used. they are for color treated hair -but i think anyone could use them. expensive - but awesome. and you use very little each time you shampoo. tip from my hairstylist: you only shampoo at the roots and let it rinse through and only condition your ends. i use the volumizing shampoo (pink bottle) and the hydrating conditioner (purple bottle). the line is usually sold at salons - but sometimes target will carry it.

I have been using this stuff for years! It is awesome! You used to only be able to get it at Salons or off the Internet but I'm pretty sure you can now get it at Bed Bath and Beyond. They have many different kinds but my favorite is the pink bottle which is the volume system. Great stuff! It tingles when you wash your hair!

Moroccan Miracle Oil Hair Treatment -- not shampoo but fits in the hair category ... sounds like a god product for anyone who wants to minimize their time blow drying.

It is a dry oil you put in your hair before blow drying. It will decrease your drying time by 50%. It works! I won't dry my hair without it. My salon started carrying it last year. One bottle is $40, but it will last a long time since you only use a few drops at once. It will not make your hair greasy, just silky and smooth!

Aveda Shampure Shampoo

Smells fantastic and really leaves your hair feeling extra clean and fresh!

Organix Pomegranate Green Tea Shampoo/Conditioner

I've blogged about this before -- it is fantastic though. It is a mid weight shampoo (if that makes any sense) so it tends to be my choice when I know I'm going to have a long day at work and minimal time to get ready for an evening event. It smells fantastic and the scent lingers in your hair most of the day but not in an obnoxious way. I found it at Target and its really pretty reasonable -- a step up from grocery store shampoo and a step below salon shampoo.

This stuff is awesome! Between you and me, I don't really know about any other kind of shampoo. In my 11 weeks of life this is all I have used, but I can tell you it makes my skin feel so soft and it smells great! My mom thinks the best part is she can wash my whole body with this stuff, no need for a separate body wash. My favorite part is it doesn't even sting if it gets in your eyes. How awesome is that???? It is made for babies but I'm pretty sure everyone can benefit from this stuff. Give it a try!

February Faves

I think my last few posts were a little too negative, so I'll change gears. Even if it is just for a few days :)

I want to report on some of my recent finds. Usually I try to stick to drugstore items, but not this time.

Jergens Ultra Healing moisturizer - I realize that I usually have some type of lotion or moisturizer on my "favorites" posts, but its wintertime and that means that I use a ton of it. Each type of lotion that I write about serves a different purpose and is used at different times of the day. This particular lotion is something I use while at work because I wash my hands so frequently. It does a great job of combating the winter dryness and is light enough that you can apply it several times each day.

Mr. Clean with Febreze - I can't take credit for this find since my sister and my mom introduced me to it but I can say that I've bought it and it is fabulous. I mainly use it for cleaning my kitchen countertops. They have to be wiped down daily, and this is a good way to get your counters clean and kitchen smelling nice after cooking.


The Show Cabernet Sauvignon - This is a wine that I had tried before and just recently re-discovered it. You can easily find this in most grocery stores for about $12. Because it is an affordable, everyday wine we tend to drink a few bottles each week. I'm not a connesiuer so, I'll borrow the tasting notes from WineCentric

Dark night-red color with black fruit and mocha on the nose. Cocoa and chocolate take the forefront and dominate the finish. Cherry, vanilla and bitter tannins lurk underneath. Smooths out after breathing and becomes a rich, lush wine with considerable muscle.

Philly Tacos - These are maybe the best things ever invented! Think of a philly cheesesteak but in taco form. And then make it better. Sorry, but I don't have a picture that can do these little bites of heaven justice. However, be on the lookout for these gems at any taqueria near you. My favorite are Taqueria del Sol and Taqueria los Hermanos. They both have excellent Philly tacos.

And now, to keep this fair I'll list the things that I HATE:



Yup, I'm still having problems with them. They suck. Enough said.

Polyvore Challenge

First of all, sorry I have been absent for the last few days. My internet has been out at home so I really haven't been able to. Internet is still out, so I'm blogging from work. (Hope you aren't reading this dad :) If you are though, I promise not to spend toooo much time on this!

Does everyone know what the website Polyvore is? If you don't, you really need to check it out. It is a fun place to play and create outfits. I think you can even do interior design and artsy stuff as well. Anyway, back to the point. Becky created a new game using Polyvore. Each day, we give each other a scenario and rules and we have to create outfits accordingly.

Day 1
Becky's challenge to me: You are to create an outfit that you would wear on the Vegas strip at 9pm. The weather is nice ... about 75 degrees or so and at least one article or accessory must be silver.

She then requested that you wear it to church with her the next day but you know that you will see many of your friends there. You have to wear the sweater but you try to look as cute as possible.

No, I'm not Goth. Or Depressed. Just a Realist

I realize that last post may have been a little rough. Sorry! I was only venting. That is the thing with this blog, sometimes when I haven't written in a while and something just hits me so I decide to write a post about it. I don't put tons of thought into the things I write here .... usually they are just things that pop into my mind.

Soooooo .... just to prove I'm not all "dark and twisty" (Grey's Anatomy reference), let's have some fun!! I have just discovered polyvore and it is GREAT! So, I put together a few outfits on a whim. These are the types of outfits that I would normally throw together for work.

I love this dress -- it is so me. And yellow is one of my favorite colors so that bag is a no-brainer. I probably wouldn't necessarily spend the money on Alexander McQueen shoes, but I do love them.

Okay, I have tights this color and I ALWAYS struggle to wear them. I'm just not sure how to do it. I personally think this is a cute look, but I'm not quite sure about the bag. I mean I love it, but I'm just not sure it flows well with the ensemble. I didn't spend a lot of time looking for one, but I really think it best to use a non-black bag here. What are your thoughts?

Favorites of the Month

I'll do my best to make this a recurring post. As I've mentioned before, I love shopping at the drugstore and even more than that I love discovering new products. Here are some of my most recent finds.

1) Extra Fruit Sensations Berry Pearadise gum. OMG this stuff is amazing! You can't find this just anywhere so be on the lookout for it at any drugstore, grocery store, gas station, or Target/Wal-Mart type store. This gum is fantastic -- it holds its flavor longer than most gums and stays soft as well. I had an open pack of this in my office a few weeks ago and every time I walked in, I could smell this gum. You must try it.

2) Organix Pomegranite Green Tea Shampoo -- I like to mix up my shampoos. I alternate between 3-4 different kinds each day. I'm a little neurotic about it, and Ben hates all the bottles in our shower but its something that I've always done. Because I alway alternate shampoos, I am always on the lookout for a new kind and stumbled across this one at Target a few weeks ago. Neither the shampoo or conditioner is too heavy, leaves no residue and keeps your hair smelling great all day!

3) Burt's Bees Hand Salve -- This stuff is fabulous. Especially in the winter when your hands tend to get dry and gross. I got some for Christmas and have been using it religiously every night. I don't really think it is meant to be used as a lotion, but really is meant to help smooth out and heal your hands.

4) Mucinex D -- Yeah, go ahead and call me gross if you want to. I put this on the list because I had a little cold/sinus issue last week and this stuff works wonders for masking the symptoms. I will admit that these make you a little grumpy and jittery, but they work wonders.

Just Say NO!!

It sounds so easy, doesn't it? Why is that one little word so hard to say when it comes to food? I've always heard people complain about how much they eat during the holidays and I really never understood it until this year. I've always loved food and probably eat more than I should, but it really hasn't ever mattered too much. Let me let yall in on a little secret though ....

Once you are in your late 20's, your metabolism SLOWS DOWN. Tremendously.

As I was busy eating my 1000-calorie steak biscuit this morning (someone brought them in to the office -- I couldn't be rude and decline), I decided to adopt a phrase from D.A.R.E. Just Say No! I'm going to try my damdest to eat normal-sized portions as opposed to gouging myself on all this yummy Christmas food.

Ben v. Spaghetti

As you may or may not know, I absolutely love to cook. I watch food network often (well, not so much anymore) and am constantly on the lookout for new and different things to try. I wouldn't say that I'm an adventurous eater but I do like to try new things. Ben puts up with this to a point. I think there have only been two times that he has deemed something inedible. Once was because it was inedible and the other time because it contained 2 ingredients that he hates.

With all that said, I do try to cook some of our favorite dishes at least a couple times a week. I've found that Ben handles a new recipe much better when he knows that one of his favorites are in the queue. Lately though, one of our mutual favorites has come under some serious criticism. Spaghetti.

That's right. Spaghetti. I make my own sauce sometimes, but often I just use the jarred sauce and I'll usually throw in some peppers, onions, and herbs to punch up the flavor a bit. So a few months ago I bought a different brand of jarred sauce and it was awful. Neither one of us liked it, and I promised him that I would go back to the old kind. And I did. However, the very next time I made spaghetti he decided to tell me that his mother's was better.

OUCH!! I mean no offense at all to Ben's mother, but just OUCH. I mean, it is completely fine and natural to think that. You just don't say it to your wife!!!

Every time since then, he has requested that I make his mother's sauce. I haven't only because I don't have her recipe. He has to think to ask her in advance of when I go grocery shopping and I'll be happy to give it a whirl.

I think I have an alternate solution though, Ben. Just BUY ME THIS COOKBOOK for Christmas. I want it, need it, have to have it. I know your mother makes great spaghetti, but a a Rao's cookbook contains real Italian recipes. That would at least give her a run for her money!!

Dear Chick-fil-A,

You are awesome! You are one of the few fast food restaurants that I will visit. (Ask my husband, I am horrible on long road trips because I pretty much refuse to eat fast food). There are many things on your menu which I enjoy, but my all-time favorite is your Chicken Salad Sandwich. With cheese.

I used to live off your sandwiches. Anytime that I didn't feel like cooking or needed to grab something quick to eat, I would always order myself a chicken salad sandwich with cheese. Occasionally, I would change up my order but only if I had Chick-fil-A for my previous meal. The best thing about your chicken salad sandwiches was the fact that they were flat. The bread was toasted and pressed and it just made the sandwich so much tastier. But now, now you have changed your menu up and the sandwich is all new and different.

As a frequent customer, I beg of you to change it back. I can't say that I dislike the new one but it just isn't the same as the old one. I get that you needed to raise prices. I'm not dumb enough to believe that you actually just wanted to re-invent some of your menu items. You just wanted an excuse to raise the price of a sandwich by a couple cents. That's fine. Go ahead and raise your price. I promise, I'll still eat there. JUST DO NOT CHANGE THE RECIPE. I want my sandwich flat and pressed ... just like it used to be. And quit chopping the chicken so coarsely. And keep your lettuce and fancy box while you're at it.

Please. Bring back the old chicken salad sandwich.

90210

Ben is still supposed to guest blog for me about the new 90210. (He was also supposed to get his emissions tested 3 weeks ago and that hasn't happened yet, so don't hold your breath) If he does, I can assure you that he will go more into detail and will entertain you much more than I do. I just wanted to make a few quick observations from last night's episode as well as from the show in general.

Are yall watching the show at all?

1) Is the whole show comical to anyone else other than me? I mean, there are a few decent actors on the show but as a whole they're not that great. Was the old 90210 like that too? I haven't watched any old episodes lately, but I don't remember thinking the acting was terrible. At least not with the main characters.

2) I LOVED the fight between Annie and Naomi. Loved it. I think that whole scene (and the reasons for the argument) was completely tailored for their target audience. Not only that, but for those (like me) who aren't in their target demographic, it provided comedic relief to what was otherwise an unrealistic episode.

3) I am so glad that Kelly is back! And the scenes for next week look awesome -- there is going to be more Kelly/Brenda boyfriend drama!! Looks like Brenda will reveal that she has betrayed Kelly with that teacher (Mr. Matthews?). And that is just great .... Kelly did it to Brenda way back when and now Brenda finally gets her revenge.

Current Favorite Products

This might be a boring post to some of you. If it is, let me know and I’ll try to step it up next time! I really can’t afford to lose any of my 10 readers.

One of my favorite places in the world is the drugstore. I’m not kidding. One of my dreams in life is to win a 10 minute shopping spree in a drugstore. All I need is a shopping cart and 10 minutes. I would be a very happy woman ….

In honor of this dream of mine (which I know is totally unrealistic), I am going to post a few of my latest favorite products. These can all be found at your local CVS. Or Eckerd, or wherever you shop ….

1) L’Oreal Skin Genesis Gel Cleanser – I just bought this over the weekend and have found it to be absolutely FANTASTIC!! It is a very lightweight, foamy facial cleanser and it really does help to minimize your pores. After using it, your face feels nice and tight and smells great too! This needs to be on your must try list.

2) Arm & Hammer with Oxiclean – I’ve been using this stuff for the past few months and I highly recommend it. Of course I still use Tide for my regular laundry, but I use this to wash my sheets and towels. It really leaves them extra soft and extra clean.

3) Softlips – I remember using this back in middle school, so I know it has been out for quite a long time. However, I saw it the other day at the store and picked up a pack. The scents (Cherry, Strawberry, Raspberry, and French Vanilla) are just so much better than your normal chapstick and I think it does a better job ad conditioning dry lips than chaptstick.
4) Oil of Olay Regenerist – This moisturizer is FABULOUS. I tend to be pretty picky about my moisturizers, because anything too heavy will make my skin oily. This is actually called a ‘serum’ so it is lighter than most moisturizers. However, it will you the protection you need and will leave your face glowing. You must try this product.

Halloween 2008

Friday night was a very spooky one for the Longmires. Crick hosted a party for all our friends and lots of people came in from out of town for the occasion! Even Crick made sure to get himself voted off Survivor so he could be back for his own party!


He went to great effort to decorate his house for his guests.

We may all be pushing 30, but that doesn't mean that we're too old to dress up. I think Halloween is even better as an adult that it was as a kid. Each year, there is a big party for Halloween and we all work very hard to make sure we have great costumes. (Or in my case, my mom works hard to make sure my costume is good!)

He Kexin joined us at the party. (Although, since she is only 8 years old she was unable to partake in adult beverages)

Slash showed up to have a drink. He also found time to show off his guitar skills ...

Amy Winehouse and Blake Fielder-Civil were there. (Apparently he is now out of jail)


Sarah Palin (and baby Trig) took a pause from the campaign trail to visit us.

Hannah Montana was there with her dad, Billy Ray. (I was too worried that his mullet would break the lens on my camera, so he is not pictured)

Not sure who this clown is, or why he was at our party. I think he got seperated from his tour group ....
